The Pendulum Swings

In Pendulum of Power I discussed the phenomenon of shifting power in our democracy. The election of Donald J. Trump after Barack Obama’s presidency is an example.

Yet, as votes are counted, the early results of the 2022 Midterm elections are amazing. Thus far results are balanced: Senate 49 Democrats and 49 Republicans; The House of Representatives has only a five-point differential. In spite of the “Big Lie,” our Congress is balancing itself by voter’s mandate.

What an astonishing time in which to live! When the new Congress convenes, those on the right are less likely to pass legislation that marginalizes the socially and economically partitioned. At the same time, those on the left are limited in their ability to initiate excessive individualistic regulations.

America’s ideological perspectives and legislative objectives are being bounded by a moral and ethical consensus. This is Divine intervention at work.
